Not surprisingly, Mateo Musacchio is attracting the attention of other clubs in Europe again. Bayern Munich were rumored to be "tracking him" (whatever that means) and Everton reportedly sent a scout to watch him in El Madrigal recently.
You may recall Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign him a couple of summers back, but wouldn't meet Villarreal's asking price, with the deal further complicated by the fact River Plate still owned some of Musacchio's rights. Since then, we understand Villarreal have obtained those, so negotiation would be more simple.
However, Sr. Roig has stated Musacchio would only move if his release price is met--€50 million. Which is about 40 million pounds--a lot even for a Premier League side. That current contract, by the way, runs until 2018. (Apart from our players on loan, only Rukavina and Bonera have contracts coming up this summer). With Musacchio and Ruiz forming an excellent partnership in the middle of our defense, I doubt Sr. Roig is going to want to budge on that hardball stance.
