Villarreal’s second team host Levante’s second squad in another important matchup in the Segunda B. Back-to-back wins have moved our B-boys into the middle of the table (9th on 21 points), three points from the playoff places but only five ahead of the relegation playoff place (which Levante B currently holds).
Promotion has to be the goal for Villarreal B, especially since the C team (in action on Sunday, also at home, against one of the two teams in the table ahead of them) has been playing very well and is a candidate for promotion themselves.
Leo Suárez saw his first action of the season after his injury last week, making a brief appearance against Hércules. If he is able to return to his best form, that will be good news. Villarreal will be without José Peris, who is serving a red-card suspension.
Levante B has an American playing for them—Shaquell Moore, a right back. He played briefly for FC Dallas and played for the American U-17, 18 and 20 teams.
There are five other B teams in our group this year, and our record so far against them is three games played, three losses (Barca, Valencia and Espanyol). We’ll be hoping to turn this round tomorrow.
