Denis Cheryshev ready to return to action

Ironic that the fellow who was our #1 target during the summer really hasn't contributed yet.

Denis Cheryshev has recovered from his muscle injury and should be available for the trip to Iparua for Sunday's early kickoff.  He may get a few minutes against Eibar; I'd expect him to see more action against Osmanlispor on Thursday in the Europa League though.

Alexandre Pato is recovering from a minor case of the mumps but should be available for Sunday; Daniele Bonera didn't train today after a muscle strain.

Chery was the guy we really wanted to get, and we did so, but we've had to wait for him to recover from the injury he picked up playing for Valencia, and he's appeared in only five of our matches so far, mostly as a sub.  Roberto Soriano, Samu Castillejo, and Jona dos Santos have been our wingers so far, but we need Chery to get with the program and play like he did for us a couple of years ago when he was on loan.  I'm sure he will do so--he just needs to be healthy and have time with the team to become familar with all the new players.

Endavant Villarreal!
