As reported last week, English Championship club Nottingham Forest approached Villarreal about Bojan Jokic, our Slovenian international leftback who has hardly featured for us this season (two matches in the Primera, one in the Copa, four in the Europa League). And now, he has been loaned there until the end of the season.
Jokic came to Villarreal in the summer of 2013 but the fine form of Jaume Costa at left back, plus the emergence of Adrian Marín, now fully recovered from an injury that sidelined him much of last year, has meant that Jokic has become less important in our squad.
Forest needed a left back due to injury and Jokic will certainly help them out a lot. I doubt the loan deal will become permanent only because Forest are stuck firmly in the Championship mid-table, but if he does well, perhaps an offer will come in for him.
More rumblings that Alexsandar Pantic, currently on loan at Eibar, may move to Celtic for a €2m fee. I suspect if they have in fact offered that, or close to it, Villarreal will accept, as his contract is up in the summer.
Injury news: Trigueros and Soldado, who have been carrying knocks, are fine for Sunday; Jaume Costa is not and won't be included in the squad; Jonathan dos Santos is a doubt. Eric Bailly is apparently OK.
