Villarreal B and C news; first team visits area hospitals today

A quick roundup of news from Villarreal B and C

Villarreal CF twitter

Villarreal's second team suffered a disappointing home draw at the weekend.  After being two goals up (Leo Suarez, Alfonso Pedraza) over Espanyol B, they allowed two goals in the last 20 minutes and came away with a draw.  However, league leaders Reus also had their problems at home: they were up on Cornella but allowed two goals themselves.

The table now is Villarreal B 39, Reus 39, Hercules, Lleida Esportiu and Cornella on 31.

An addition to the B team: left back Jose Peris, formerly of Huracán Valencia, has joined us.

Villarreal C is currently fifth in their league (on 31 points from 19 matches) but Ontinyent, just above them, are struggling, so we could move into the playoff spots with a win at home over Alzira this next weekend.  However, Ivan Cassano, who captained our trophy-winning Juvenil A squad and was on the C team roster this season, has been signed by Malaga and will play for their second team.  No idea of terms of that deal.

Villarreal's first team visited area hospitals today, as you can see from the photo.

Finally, if you'd like to see the new "Celtic Submari" supporter's club hangout, here it is.  A couple of their members (namely Robin and Millie were at the match in A Coruña, but many others watched on TV.  Enjoy!
