News of ex-amarillos.....

(1) Wakaso Mubarak: the well-traveled Ghanian international has left Rubin Kazan and has joined Al-Ittihad (UAE).  I don't think we get a part of any transfer fee; we did when Espanyol sold him to Kazan.

(2) Nilmar (still our most expensive signing, at least for another few days!): He joiined Dubai's Al-Nasr for a €3m fee, after playing for Internacional in Brazil again.  Now 31, and unlikely to get any more international callups.  (We bought him for €16.5m, sold him for €10m when we were relegated; he was sold on later for another €8m in January 2014 so I  imagine we got a bit of that).

(3) Angel López (Las Palmas) out for several months after injuring his knee.

(4) Santi Cazorla signed a new contract at Arsenal.

(5) Gonzalo Rodriguez, Borja Valero and Giuseppe Rossi all played in Fiorentina's 2-1 win over Barcelona yesterday (that's the Messi-less and Neymar-less Barca, in case you were wondering).  Borja's chipped assist for the first Fiore goal was especially great.

(6) And finally, José Enrique appears to be set to leave Liverpool--at least,Brendan Rodgers has told him he is "not in his plans".  The left back has struggled with injuries the past couple of years, is still only 29 though.

(7) And, recent "old boy" Gio dos Santos has landed in Los Angeles, where he was met by a lot of fans at the airport.  Haven't seen anything about whether he's over his injury or is training with the Galaxy.
