One of Villarreal's most promising youngsters has departed; Aleix Garcia has signed with Manchester City.  Villarreal will pocket €3m, which is a lot in some ways, not a lot in others.  But it's an opportunity that Sr. Roig himself told Aleix he should not pass up.

Edgar Ié has arrived on a free from Barcelona, signing a three-year deal.  He gives us more depth at centerback, which looks to be covered with Musacchio (when he returns), Ruiz, Bailly, Iñiguez, and now Ié.

Denis Suarez is looking more possible in yellow, according to MARCA; the Cheryshev situation is "very complicated" but the odds he is going to Valencia seem less today, which doesn't mean he's going to Villarreal--he may stay put.  Of course, in an hour or two the rumors may completely change!

The squad for Espanyol--no real surprises, and confirmation that Jonathan dos Santos will wear number 8 this season.

Keepers:

13. Areola. 25. Barbosa.

Defenders:

2. Mario.  3. Jokic.  6. Víctor Ruiz.  11. Jaume Costa.  22. Rukavina.  24. Bailly.  44. Pablo Íñiguez.

Midfielders:

4. Pina.

7. Samuel. 8. J. Dos Santos. 14. Trigueros. 19. S. Castillejo. 26. Nahuel.

Strikers:

9. Soldado. 10. Leo Baptistao. 17. Bakambu.

missing due to injury: Asenjo, Musacchio

suspended: Bruno Soriano (his two-game suspension is being appealed, not great hopes though)

technical decision: Espinosa, Jony Pereira

I am sure we are still working on at least loaning these two out.

Endavant!!
