As the Spanish U-19 continues their path in the 2015 UEFA U-19 in Greece, so are the selected players from Villarreal, Matías Nahuel, Alfonso Pedraza, and Rodri Hernández.
In their opening game Spain convincingly defeated Germany 3-0. Both Pedraza and Rodri started for La Rojita whereas Nahuel had to wait in the bench after his long period of absence due to injury.
Spain came out gun blazing from the beginning on the match. It didn't take them any long to open the score barely in the 7th minute. Young Submariner Pedraza was involved with a cross coming from the left wing, assisting Navarre palyer Mikel Merino was put it into the back of the net.
Spain kept possession of the ball per as usual, whereas Germany decided not too get involved and pressure too much. Pedraza was close to broaden the score with a header from a pass by Asensio, but he was denied by the German keeper.
Luis de la Fuente decided to made some changes to his line up, bringing Pape Cheikh to reinforce the midfield, and Matías Nahuel replacing the injured Asensio.
Spain extended their lead in the 70th minute after Borja Mayoral was brought down in the box, earning a PK for La Rojita. The Madrid player himself step up and converted the PK to make it 2-0.
In the dying minutes of the match, Spain launched a counter-attack led by Borja Mayoral who assisted Nahuel to make it 3-0 for Spain.
Great result for Spain and for the Villarreal canteranos as they all saw action. The only bad note was that Pedraza was sent off with a straight red card for a hard challenge.
Spain will be facing Russia on Friday the 10th.
