The Navarre press claim Villarreal has signed Osasuna Goalkeeper, Ander Cantero. Both Villarreal and Osasuna came to an agreement for the transfer of Cantero after his contract was set to expire next year on June 30th.
Osasuna decided to loan Cantero last season given that he was third choice behind Asier Riesgo and Roberto Santamaría. Cantero spent last season playing for Zamora CF during the first half on the season, and then he was loaned to Real Madrid C in the winter transfer window. Cantero went on to train with Madrid's first team.
Cantero, born in Navarre, has spent the majority of his career with boyhood club Osasuna. Cantero has also featured for the youth national Spanish teams.
Initially cantero would be a part of the B team, currently in Group III in Segunda División B, where he would be looking to compete with Aitor Fernández, and Miguel Bañuz.
