We'll have a full report on the match tomorrow from someone who was there (and braved the rain). Villarreal could have had 3 or 4 more goals with better finishing and a bit of luck, OL didn't have much luck either hitting a couple of posts.

Hard to imagine we'll see today's center-back pairing of Pantic and Iñiguez during the regular season, but they performed reasonably well. I have to think Bojan Jokic was happier with the English referee than those in La Liga--his physical play gets penalized far too much in Spain!
Worth noting Lyon started a completely different team than the one that was hammered 6-0 by Arsenal, and they didn't play their highly-touted striker (and Arsenal target) Alexandre Lacazette at all. I can't think their performance today will give their manager Fournier a lot of confidence, since with better finishing and maybe a bit more selfishness, we could have embarassed them as well.
Toward the end of the match Lyon players let their frustration get the better of them--Ivan Alejo received a kicked ball in the head courtesy of Benzia. Naughty, naughty!
