New rumor: Villarreal pursuing Cedric Bakambu

Villarreal have reportedly offered €8m to Bursaspor in Turkey for Cedric Bakambu, according to the Turkish paper FotoSpor.   He is a 24-year old DR Congo international (represented France at youth levels, he was born in the Paris area), and is a striker.  Last year he scored 13 goals in 21 matches in Turkey; before that he had two seasons with Serie A club Sochaux, 8 goals and 7 respectively (Sochaux were relegated at the end of that second season, so it's not as though he had a lot of attacking help).

Looks good on paper; Bursaspor are holding out for €10m though, and Inter and Lazio are also interested.   You may recall Bursa took Jozy Altidore on loan from us several years back, as far as I know the only relationship we've had with them.
