Joan Oriol: Villarreal Blast from the Past joins Real Mallorca

Real Mallorca have picked up Joan Oriol, ex-Villarreal left back, on a free transfer.

News of an ex-amarillo, Joan OriolHe's signed with Real Mallorca, who will try again to get out of the Segunda (last year, their defense was terrible, so Oriol can only help).  The little left back (5'9") played for Villarreal's B team from 2008 to 2010 and for Villarreal proper from 2010 to 2013, making 50 appearances.  He was part of both our relegation and promotion team, but bad luck with injuries and the emergence of Jaume Costa pretty much ended his adventure in yellow.

To be honest, I lost track of him after he left Osasuna, but last year he played for Blackpool in the English Championship (11 matches), got away from that shambolic club to Bucharest, where he played 13 matches.  Now he returns to Spain (if not the mainland) where he will be reunited with ex-Villarreal B mates Joselu and Fofo.

Bona sort, Joan!!
