Dos Santos brothers to leave Villarreal? Cheryshev to stay?

Today's rumor, courtesy of a story in EPM, who usually know what they are talking about.

EPM today published an article stating Villarreal are prepared to listen to offers for Gio dos Santos.   After an excellent first season in yellow, he has struggled to make an impact and has not been a regular member of the first team.  Although he hasn't said anything publicly, he has told his agent he wants to move on and so is in the shop window.

As for his brother, they share the same agent, so it's possible if one leaves, the other would want to go as well.  Since Jonathan was one of our best players last year, this would be a large loss.

Ike Uche is still in Mexico, presumably negotiating with Tigres; rumor is he didn't want to take a medical with them though.

As for Denis Cheryshev, he has stated he would like to continue in Villarreal, but Madrid holds his contract so exactly what the future will bring, no one yet knows.

Marcelino was also on Radio Vila-real this morning; I didn't hear it, but word was he said not to expect any (or very few) of the loanees back.  Pantic apparently has interest from Rayo and Espanyol (as a loan, I expect).

It seems the front office has decided that our current group of players has perhaps reached its limit for now, and if we are going to challenge for higher placings, we need to make changes--especially up front.  Time will tell.
