Villarreal nurtures the Spanish U-19 team with up to four players

Rodri Hernández, Alfonso Pedraza, Aleix García and Nahuel Leiva have been called up to the Spanish U-19 team for the final phase of the 2015 U-19 European tournament.

The Spanish U-19 national football has selected four players from the Villarreal cantera to the final phase of the 2015 U-19 European tournament in Greece. The aforementioned players are: Rodri Hernández, Alfonso Pedraza Aleix García, and Nahuel Leiva. Villarreal is the club that contributes with the most for this Spanish squad. Nahuel makes his return to the U-19 team after being struggling with injury. This also marks the first time Aleix García has been named to the U-19 team.

Prior to traveling to Greece, the members of the Spanish U-19 team will have their usual preparedness at the training ground of Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas (Madrid) between June 22 to July 3rd.

Up to 24 players have been have been named for the call by coach Luis de la Fuente, therefore he will have to discard 6 players prior the beginning of the tournament.

The Spanish U-19 football team are in Group B paired with Germany, Russia and the Netherlands. Their match-dates are the following:

  • Tuesday, July 7th: Germany-Spain.
  • Friday, July 10th: Spain-Russia.
  • Monday, July 13th: Spain-Netherlands.
