Villarreal transfer rumor: Daniele Baselli?

Numerous outlets have reported Villarreal has made a bid for the services of young Italian midfielder Daniele Baselli.

The source seems to be the Italian paper 'La Gazetta dello Sport'.  Not exactly an impeccable source

Why it makes sense: It doesn't.   He's more of a defensive midfielder/central midfielder from what I can see, and we are well stocked at that position.  Secondly, he hasn't even been a regular for a team near the bottom of Serie A, so bidding €6m for him seems very unlikely.

Likelihood:   I'll believe it when I see it.
