Gio dos Santos, out for a month

It hasn't been a very good year for Gio: injuries have nagged him most of the season, and now he's going to be out at least a month. Since our last La Liga match is a month and three days from now, I'd expect him to be shut down until next fall.

Gio dos Santos felt some twinges yesterday as he warmed up to face Cordoba, and it turns out he has a hamstring tear in his right leg.  And now the club's medical staff has confirmed he will be out for a month.  Since the season ends on May 23, he's effectively out for the season.

It's been a tough year for Gio; an earlier hamstring injury in November, a muscle strain in September, and he really hasn't looked at ease on the pitch most of the season.   He's had these sorts of problems throughout his career, but this year has been a real struggle.

Mexico plays in the Copa America starting on June 12, so this injury could rule Gio out for that.  We'll just have to wait and see.
