Villarreal survives the "FIFA virus"

New, comments

Everyone except Sergio Asenjo played over the international break.

For once, it looks as though the FIFA virus didn't affect Villarreal.  Of our seven players called up, six played for their respective squads.  Eric Bailly was the workhorse, playing all 90 minutes of both of Ivory Coast's matches, while Joel Campbell played most of Costa Rica's two games.  Most everyone else played 90 minutes or less...and Sergio Asenjo didn't feature in Spain's match at all.

As Robin reported yesterday from the training ground, Bailly was already back; providing there are no travel hiccups, everyone should be back in time to travel to the Mestalla.

Nonetheless, we will be without Bruno and Cheryshev (injured), Moi Gomez (yellow card accumulation) and Victor Ruiz (loan restriction) against Valencia.
