Desso Grass Master system is coming to El Madrigal

The club announced today Villarreal will become the first club in Spain to employ this system, already used by clubs like Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Milan, and the Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers in the NFL.

Villarreal announced today it's going to be installing the Desso Grass Master system at El Madrigal.  This involves injecting artificial grass fibers about 8 inches below the playing surface, so that the roots of the growing grass intertwine with the artificial fibers and becomes strengthened.

The system is currently used at a number of grounds, but none in Spain.  The work will be done at the end of the season, and in addition to El Madrigal the same system will be employed at the Mini Estadi and the club's first team training facilities.
