Villarreal-Eibar GAMETHREAD

New, comments

Sevilla losing this morning helps, but we need three points to stay close to them and remain 6 points clear of Malaga in the race for sixth. Remember, if a team that isn't in the top 6 makes the Copa del Rey final, they'll grab a Europa League spot, even if they lose the cup, so sixth place matters.

Quick news of Red Bull Salzburg, who rested seven of their starters today and drew against someone-or-other 2-2 in the Austrian league.

Villarreal tried the resting-lots-of-starters policy last week and it didn't go so well.  Todays team:

Asenjo, Rukavina, Bailly, Dorado, J.Costa; Sergio Marcos, Jona dos Santos, Moi Gómez, Campbell; Gerard y Gio

so Vietto, Cheryshev, Musacchio and Mario (injury) are rested, Uche and Trigueros rested as well.

A debut for Eric Bailly with Villarreal (through remember he has already played in La Liga this season).  We need Joel Campbell and Moi to step up today.

Eibar squad is: Irureta, Boveda, Anibarro, Ekiza, Capa, Arruabarrena, Dani Garcia, Lillo, Manu, del Moral, Raul Navas, and Javi Lara.

In other news, the Basque word for 'alineaciones' (lineups) is hamaikakoak.   So now you know.
