Robin Stacey returns with some well-needed positivity!!

Not looking great for Villarreal at the moment after losing 3-2 in the Copa this week. But the cup is the cup and this is La Liga.
Kick of is 4.00 Spanish time at home.  Fans will hoping for one swift victory here and we will be back on track to fight for a top four placing.   Soldado will be hoping his goal scoring will return. To be fair to him he is a strong influence and has a great effect on his team mates which more than makes up for things.
Rayo return to the Liga after defeating Getafe in the league and will be looking to continue their push. It will be a open match with a lot of midfield battles. Providing Villarreal can field a striker this week it should be an easy victory.
Getafe is a hard story to digest. To say we should have won is lying but we did not have a single outright striker. It will be interesting to see what will happen in the winter window.
Agreeing with the commenter's opinion, it would be great to see the youngsters promoted to the first team. But Marce doesn't seem to favour that option which is frustrating for everyone.  An option would be terminate Adrian's contract and look for an alternative. I am all for giving player a chance but he hasn't exactly proven an asset to club apart from keeping the medical team in a job.
According to early reports we will be without Adrian, Bonera, Leo Baptistao, Rukavina and Sergio Asenjo, while worryingly Victor Ruiz seems to be struggling (though he is in the squad).

Villarreal's 18 is:

  • Keepers: Areola, Barbosa.
  • Defenders: Musacchio, Víctor Ruiz, Bailly, Jaume Costa, Marín, Miguelón.
  • Midfielders: Bruno Soriano, Samu Castillejo, Samu García, Jona dos Santos, Trigueros, Denis Suárez, Tomás Pina, Nahuel.
  • Strikers: Soldado, Bakambu.

Can see an easy 2-0 victory here but you never know.  Vammmos!!!!!!
