Villarreal travelling party to Minsk announced

Pablo Iñiguez is included in place of Eric Bailly, otherwise it is as we would expect.

19 players going to Minsk (one, probably one of the three keepers, will drop off from the subs bench on the day):

  • Keepers: Barbosa, Areola y Aitor.
  • Defenders: Mario, Rukavina, Jaume Costa, Jokic, Víctor Ruiz y Pablo Íñiguez.
  • Midfielders: Bruno, Jonathan dos Santos, Pina, Trigueros, Samuel García, Samu Castillejo, Denis Suárez y Nahuel.
  • Strikers: Soldado y Bakambu.

I am expecting to see Iñiguez and Ruiz in central defense, maybe with Jokic and Rukavina; Barbosa in goal; and some combination of Nahuel, Samu C, Samu G, Soldado, Trigueros and Pina ahead of them.

Temperature around game time is expected to be around freezing, so look for lots of parkas and blankets to keep the subs warm, and long sleeves and thermal underwear on everyone!

Also, Villarreal will not be arriving a day early to train--they are flying in for the match, as did Barcelona for their match with BATE Borisov in the Champions League.
