Villarreal-Celta Vigo PREVIEW

The Yellow Submarine take on the Sky Blues at El Madrigal in an early Sunday kickoff.

Robin is still moving house so I will have to channel him this week.  Celta has started off really well with ex-Barca man Nolito making tons of headlines.   He and Iago Aspas, who returned from a disastrous spell with Liverpool, are the threat up front.  Krohn-Delhi is gone but they have another Danish international midfielder, Daniel Wass, signed for €3m from Evian in the summer.  Orellana is good too and one to watch.

Celta defeated Sevilla and Barcelona in the space of four days, but followed that up with draws at Eibar and a home goalless match with Getafe.  Last year Celta got off to a good start but faded--will this year be different?

Villarreal are without Bruno which may be a big loss on this one, but we do get Bakambu, Baptistao and Denis Suarez back.  Bojan Jokic is suspended after his red card against Levante.  I've got no idea who will start for us on the wings and up front, but it has to be Mario-Ruiz-Bailly-Jaume Costa as the back four in front of Areola.  Beyond that, who knows, but I'll pick Samu C, Nahuel, Pina, Trigueros, Baptistao and Soldado

Win and we stay top for another week, lose and we could drop to fifth.  A lot to play for.

Prediction:  2-2.

Trivia: Celta Vigo have had Citroen as a shirt sponsor for twenty years now.  That is certainly the longest sponsorship in Spanish football, and maybe Europe.
