Bruno Soriano continues to shine for Villarreal, but yet again has been overlooked for the national team. The callup for the Belarus qualifier on the 15th, and Germany friendly on the 18th, is:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, David de Gea, Kiko Casilla.
Defenders: Juanfran Torres, Gerard Piqué, Raúl Albiol, Sergio Ramos, César Azpilicueta, Jordi Alba, Marc Bartra.
Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Koke Resurrección, Santi Cazorla, Cesc Fàbregas, Juan Bernat, Raúl García, Nacho Camacho, José Callejón, Isco Alcarcón.
Forwards: Pedro Rodríguez, Paco Alcácer, Manuel "Nolito" Agudo, Álvaro Morata.
Morata, Nolito, Callejon, and Camacho are the new names, so it looks as though VDB is bringing in some players who have done well for the under-21 side. Which is fine, but unless Busquets gets injured, I don't see that the coach will turn to a veteran like Bruno. Sad.
As for the under-21 squad, we do have two players in it, Moi and Pablo Iñiguez. They play a friendly on the 12th vs Belgium, and the complete squad is:
Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Óscar Whalley.
Defenders: Jonny Castro, David Costas, Pablo Íñiguez, Jaime Sánchez, José Luis Gayá.
Midfielders: Sergi Samper, Moises Gómez, Denis Súarez, Saúl Ñíguez, Víctor Camarasa, Álvaro Medrán, Unai López.
Forwards: Munir El Haddadi, Samuel Castillejo, Sandro Ramírez, Gerard Deulofeu.
We have had more success getting our players called up to the under-19 team (playing a tournament in Greece next week), as Adrian Marin, Nahuel, and Ramiro Guerra (C team) were called to that concentración.
