Both Jonathan and Giovani dos Santos came on as substitutes today

Villarreal's brother duo came on late for Mexico today. Their 3-2 win against the Netherlands is sweet revenge for their World Cup defeat.

Well done, El Tri.  Mexico's national team defeated the Netherlands 3-2 today in Amsterdam.  From the Villarreal USA point of view, the main interest was the presence of both dos Santos brothers, Giovani and Jonathan, on the bench; Gio came on in the 77th minute for Carlos Vela (who marked his return to the Mexican NT by scoring two goals) and Jonathan came on five minutes later for "HH", Hector Herrera.

This was the first win by a CONCACAF nation in the Netherlands in 53 years (Who keeps track of these things??).  The last, Mexico, in April 1961.  I don't think I knew what a soccer ball was in April 1961....

Gio was interviewed recently by Andy Mitten of ESPN, unfortunately the interviewer wanted to spend more time asking him about Chicharito and Raul Jimenez rather than Villarreal, but that's life. Marca pointed out though that last year Gio had seven goals by this time in league play; this year, none.  Should we be concerned, or is he going to bust loose?  We shall see.
