Bruno Soriano, selected to Spanish National Team!

With Cesc Fabregas pulling out because of an injury, Villarreal's captain is chosen to take his place.

Manuel Queimadelos Alonso

Breaking news from Spain is that Bruno Soriano has been chosen to replace Cesc Fabregas in the Spanish team.  It's certainly well past time for this honor, as all of us supporting Villarreal well know.

Bruno has been a part of the national team before, but not since May of 2012.  It seemed that our relegation to the Segunda ended his chances of being chosen to the team (or maybe we should say it's only possible to get chosen for Spain if your club plays Real madrid and Barcelona?) , but his performances over the last two years have more than merited his callup today.

Bruno did say he had a bit of a strained muscle at the end of the Espanyol match, but evidently it is nothing serious as he has accepted the callup without delay.

Enhorabuena capitán!
