Greetings groguets, this is going to be a very quick preview because I am about to head off to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday--she's only six days younger than Villarreal CF! Anyhow....
Our opponents: SD Huesca are one of the smaller teams in the Segunda. They arrived on the scene in 1960, got to the Segunda in 2008, and have finished in the bottom half of the table each year. Just surviving another year is their priority, and right now it's not looking too good--they are currently 20th and five points away from safety. A draw will not help them here.
The Aragonese have lost their last three matches, and to be perfectly honest haven't beaten anyone of Villarreal's caliber this season. But as we know they drew with us in El Madrigal, and also had goalless home draws early in the season with Elche and Girona. Throw in the nasty weather that's predicted, which tends to be an equalizer, and a small ground with a pitch that's not one of the netter in the league, and a draw sounds like a plausible result, doesn't it?
Against that, Huesca are without midfielder Joaquin Sorribas and striker Nacho Novo, both suspended for yellow card accumulation. No one on the team has more than five goals, so it looks as if their best chance to score is probably from a set-piece.
Villarreal CF: The big news is the doble pivote question is answered with Marcos Senna's absence through injury. Juanma, Cani, and Javi Venta don't make the trip either.
The call is:
Keepers: Juan Carlos, Mariño.
Defenders: Musacchio, Mellberg, Dorado, Jaume Costa, Joan Oriol , Mario.
Midfielders: Bruno, Farinós, Manu Trigueros, Aquino, Moi Gómez, Hernán Pérez, Canteros.
Strikers: Uche, Jonathan Pereira, Perbet.
I expect to see a similar lineup to the last couple of matches for us, therefore.
That's all from me for now--I hope to check back this evening and find we've picked up another valuable three points!
ENDAVANT VILLARREAL, SEMPRE ENDAVANT
