Villarreal take on Ponferradina today in a league match, four days before the teams meet again at El Madrigal in a Copa del Rey match. The Yellow Submarine will be missing its internationals, so the debate about whether Diego Mariño should supplant Juan Carlos in goal can take a rest for this week. With Uche and Hernan Perez also missing, it will fall to our South American tandem of Cavenaghi and Pandiani to provide punch up front.
Florian Lejeune will be available after serving his red-card suspension from a B game, and Gerard Bordas has recovered from injury so could see is first action of the season today.

Our opponents: Ponferradina dropped from the Segunda to Segunda B at the end of 2011, then won promotion back to the second level last year. So far this season, they've defeated Alcorcon at home, and lost to Elche and Girona on the road.

You should be familiar with several players from Ponfe: attacker Fofo came from Villarreal B in the middle of last season, but hasn't played this year though will be in the squad today; Urko Vera is a veteran Segunda striker who came over from Hercules. Arsenal have loaned young Wellington Silva to Ponfe this year (after a year at Alcoyano) and Malaga allowed Helder Rosario to come over on a free transfer, but neither of those players is in the squad for this game. That's true for ex-Levante and Xerez defender Robusté, too.

Unfortunately, there is no TV for the game today, so your best bet is to catch Radio Vila-real, I believe, and/or check twitter for updates. We should have the starting XI soon.

ENDAVANT VILLARREAL!! TORNAREM!!
