Villarreal Sign Midfielder Héctor Canteros from Vélez Sársfield

Villarreal have added Argentinian defensive midfielder Héctor Miguel "Tito" Canteros to the squad, on loan for a year (with the option to buy) from Vélez Sársfield. Apparently wanted by Valencia last year, in 2011 the midfielder took the spot on the Vélez roster that was held by former Villarreal project Leandro Somoza, and has played well by all accounts, appearing 54 times since 2008. He has appeared with the Argentina national team as well.

He is coming off arthroscopic knee surgery, and is still a bit away from appearing in any matches, but he has passed a medical and should be ready to go before long.

Considering the number of midfielders who exited over the summer, this should be a welcome reinforcement to the side. As Robin (Orient1) has stated, "Our Presi. is true to his word, what a team we have this year!! 6 internationals and 1 u-21 international. TORNAREM."

He will be presented tomorrow in Vila-real at noon. Watch a few highlights after the break:
