Tributes/reminiscences/appreciations of Manolo Preciado continue to pour in, and below are links to some of them. This evening at 20h Spanish time (2PM EDT) there are at least three spontaneously-organized tributes taking place at football grounds. One is at El Madrigal, where he was to have been presented as our new mister tomorrow, and there are also gatherings at Racing Santander's Sardinero and of course El Molinon, where Preciado first led Gijon to the Primera and then kept the team up for five years. (There may be others; those are ones I have seen confirmed)
Here are a couple of English-language stories:

Now some in Spanish, the last being a short podcast you can listen to:

Villarreal, of course, cannot stand still and will have to resume its search for a coach. I think we are all--certainly the leaders of this blog are--sad, stunned beyond belief, and to some degree wondering how can we have such a run of bad luck. Sr. Roig did give some brief comments, reported here:
Roig: "la pérdida de Manolo es tremenda para su familia y para el fútbol" - MARCA.com
Preciado said himself after the death of his wife and one of his sons he had a choice: he could have shot himself, or decided to live. He chose the second option. Villarreal, in the face of yet more adversity, has no choice but to move forward, but we will always remember and wonder what might have been. Farewell Sr. Preciado, descanso en paz.
