Velasquez introduced as new coach today: Monday news roundup

As I'm writing this, Julio Velasquez is being introduced as the new coach of Villarreal. We understand the ceremony began with a moment of silence in memory of Manolo Preciado. There is a good profile of our new coach and his preferred formation here: Julio Velázquez: perfil " Futbódromo

Not much going on yet on the transfer front, though as reported earlier our target Dealbert is going to a Russian team instead. Valencia are supposedly interested in Bruno: El Valencia irá a por Bruno después de vender a Tino Costa o Topal - Valencia CF.

As most of you know, a 2-2 Spain-Croatia result knocks out Italy and sends both teams through to the next round,and the Italian press seems to be going crazy over this. Villarreal made the headlines over the weekend when ex-Italy coach Marcello Lippi, responding to Spanish statements that their players wouldn't do such things, said "ask Villarreal if the Spanish are honorable.
