About that game...I'll let Abrahán speak for me. As Kenez noted, since the days of Manuel Pellegrini, Villarreal has not put forth enough effort against the lower lights of La Liga. With Santi Cazorla and Giuseppe Rossi in the fold, maybe we could get away with that. But not this year.
Some transfer tidbits:
Giovani dos Santos is fed up with Tottenham Hotspur. To the point that he may pay his own rescission clause. Reportedly that would cost €3 million, and recall that Villarreal offered nearly €6 million for the Mexican international. Keep an eye on this story.
Chori Castro may be the next player to make the move from Mallorca to the Yellow Submarine. Ask Borja Valero or Ariel Ibagaza for a reference, not Jonathan de Guzmán. The Uruguayan's contract is up after this season, and Villarreal's scouting department should be sufficiently impressed after his four assists against us at San Moix.
Marca has an interesting story on ticket prices in Spain. Extremely high unemployment, but prices are still the highest in Europe. Surprisingly, Villarreal is not an exception.
While Sr. Roig has continued the discounted ticket offer to unemployed season ticket holders, the most expensive ticket at El Madrigal is topped only by the Madrid duo. Higher than Barcelona! El Madrigal's relatively small size explains some of the statistical oddity, but even the average cost is only surpassed by the aforementioned three teams.
Enjoy tonight's fare: Levante vs. Real Betis from the Ciutat de Valencia. One week away from our next match. A good thing?
