The B team is off and running in its third season in the Segunda. A 0-2 win over Barcelona B has re-established the minisubmarino as the best filial in Spanish football. At least until the return leg in early February, that is.
Now Villarreal B makes its home debut against newly promoted Sabadell. This should be a great chance to pick up another three points and remain at the top of the table. But there is never an easy match, warns manager José Molina.
Molina has selected an 18-man squad:
Keepers: Jorge Palatsí, Ortolà.
Defenders: Jaume Costa, Kiko Olivas, Dorian Dervite, Mano, Carlos Tomás, Pere Martínez.
Midfielders: Llorente, Iriome, Thiago Dutra, Marcos Gullón, Lucas Porcar, Chiki Guerrero.
Strikers: Joselu, Fofo, Airam Cabrera, Kike López.
Midfielder Gonzalo Castellani has a nagging leg injury, and goalkeeper Diego Mariño is with the Spanish U-21 side. French defender Florian Lejeune should be ready by next week. C team defender Pere is the only change from last weekend's squad.
CE Sabadell FC returns to the professional ranks after a twenty-year absence. The Catalan side does possess threats going forward, though on-loan midfielder Álex Cruz is injured and former Málaga striker Nabil Baha did not start last week. But their morale is high, as they defeated Huesca 2-1 to start the campaign. Ojo.
The match begins at 12 noon Eastern Time. Endavant minisubmarino!
