Thread: Villarreal - Sevilla, Alcorcón - Villarreal B

We have to keep our composure!
We have to keep our composure!

Yet another reason to make Liga Justa unhappy. Now it's the A and B teams of Villarreal playing at the same time on the same day. Makes it hard to watch both if you're at El Madrigal, no?

Maddi did a great job with the preview, so I don't have much to add. I even like his starting XI:

Diego López
Mario - Musacchio - Gonzalo - Oriol
Cani - de Guzmán - Bruno - Borja
Rossi - Ruben

Jonathan de Guzmán should make his official Villarreal debut, and with Cristián Zapata not in the squad, Mario Gaspar, Mateo Musacchio, and Gonzalo Rodríguez all are first-choice. Marco Ruben may get the nod up front, with an eye on the midweek Champions League opener against Bayern Munich.

Speaking of Bayern, they embarrassed SC Freiburg 7-0 at home today. A second-half hat-trick for Mario Gómez (four goals in all), a brace for Franck Ribéry, and a late goal for Nils Petersen. So they won't be short on confidence.

The B team visits Alcorcón to rebound from last week's disappointing home loss. Still no Gonzalo Castellani, but manager José Molina has the rest of the squad at his disposal.

Both matches start at 12 noon Eastern Time. I'll watch the A team on DVR later tonight. Endavant Villarreal!
