After finally reaching mission accomplished last weekend, the B team closes out the season today in Seville. Real Betis will return to the top flight in 2011-12 after a two-year absence. A job well done by both sides. Congratulations.
Both teams have little to play for, so I have no clue what to expect. A bore draw seems likely, but youngsters will abound, so anything could happen. Look for some of manager José Francisco Molina's C teamers to see playing time ahead of our third consecutive season in the Segunda.
The 18-man squad for the match:
Keepers: Vicente Flor and Jorge Palatsí.
Defenders: Dervite, Héctor, Carlos Tomás, Kiko, Ángel Ortega, and Jaume Costa.
Midfielders: Castellani, Natxo Insa, Llorente, Marquitos, Sergio Gómez, and Trigueros.
Forwards: Airam, Fofo, Gerard, and Joselu.
Only play-off seeding remains to be determined in the Segunda; promotion (Betis, Rayo Vallecano) and relegation (Salamanca, Tenerife- another drop for the islanders, Ponferradina, Albacete) are set in stone. Maybe we will get to see our old friend Jony Pereira in action.
A good chance to see some faces of the future. Endavant minisubmarino!
