Thread: Osasuna - Villarreal

The last competitive match of the season. Not much to say, but in a good way. Mission accomplished in 2010-11.

I like the rojillos from Pamplona, so I wouldn't mind if Osasuna stays up. The real story will be in following the jornada's other matches. Deportivo is my pick to go down.

The big question from a Villarreal perspective concerns next season's roster. Who will be playing his last game in yellow? Rossi and Borja are prime targets, but do not forget about Nilmar and even Santi. A summer of changes awaits the submarino amarillo.

An interesting 18-man unit for manager Juan Carlos Garrido:

Goalkeepers: Diego López & Juan Carlos.
Defenders: Mario Gaspar, Cicinho, Mateo Musacchio, Joan Oriol, José Manuel Catalá, Joan Capdevila, Pere Martínez & Diego Jiménez.
Midfielders: Borja Valero, Bruno Soriano, Marcos Senna, Santi Cazorla & Javier Matilla.
Forwards: Marco Ruben, Giuseppe Rossi & Sergi Mut.

Rubén Cani and Carlos Marchena miss out with knocks (the maño also is suspended), while Nilmar is back in Brazil ahead of the Copa America. C teamer Pere will not play due to a late injury, but his compatriots Jiménez and Sergi may see action. That's the influence of new B team manager José Francisco Molina. And your guess is as good as mine with regard to the starting XI.

Prediction: Osasuna needs a draw to ensure another season in the Primera, and they should get it. 1-1 at a packed and raucous Reyno de Navarra, and both sides will go home happy.
