After a 1-4 home thrashing at the hands of AD Alcorcón, the B team will have a new look tonight against Elche CF. José Molina has taken over the managerial duties on an interim basis and will look to take the filial to safety. This evening's encounter is a Valencian Community derbi against a high-flying side, so the new manager will not have it easy.
Molina's 18-man squad:
Goalkeepers: Diego Mariño & Vicente Flor.
Defenders: Ángel Ortega, Kiko Olivas, Carlos Tomás, Jaume Costa, Mano, Dorian Dervite & Héctor.
Midfielders: Castellani, Hernán Pérez, Natxo Insa, Marcos Gullón, Marquitos & Wakaso Mubarak.
Forwards: Airam, Nicki Bille Nielsen & Joselu.
Nico, Truyols, and now Gerard Bordas and leading scorer Iago Falqué are out with injury. Dutra is suspended for his two cards within a minute against Alcorcón. Tough sledding for a new manager, particularly away to a play-off candidate.
On a positive note, Dervite returns from suspension and Mano from injury. In addition, Wakaso is in the B team for the first time in months. The Ghanian midfielder formerly played for Elche but was dismissed for "disciplinary reasons", allowing Villarreal to swoop in during the winter transfer window. Great business, and I am sure that Wakaso is itching to take the pitch at the Martínez Valero.
Endavant minisubmarino! Just 90 minutes from safety, we hope.
