Cadena Ser reports accord reached to avoid strike

Cadena Ser is reporting that the strike proposed for this weekend will not happen. The Spanish Minister for Sport has apparently been successful in convincing the league not to strike; in the event the judge rules that a strike can go ahead, the teams will meet and decide to suspend their strike plans. No concrete promises have been made, but the league will tell its member clubs "we'll find the extra money we want somewhere". It's expected once the elections are over the question of the free game can be addressed--no politician wants to come out in favor of abolishing it in the middle of a campaign.
