Thread: Villarreal B - Celta

No Kiko-Dervite today. Mariño must be pleased.
No Kiko-Dervite today. Mariño must be pleased.

After the A team defeated a perennial Segunda side, Villarreal's filial hosts a historic Primera team. From Galicia, where the derbi now takes place in the second division. Sad.

RC Celta de Vigo sits in the promotion spots ahead of this afternoon's encounter. You may recognize a number of old faces, including midfielder Natxo Insa, striker Joan Tomás, and B team interim manager Paco Herrera. Herrera took over after Juan Carlos Garrido was promoted in February 2010. How times have changed.

Herrera knows how to beat his former side: avoid a track meet. Our manager José Molina, on the other hand, promises fireworks. Should be an interesting clash of styles at the Ciudad Deportiva.

Manager José Molina has 18 players at his disposal:

Keepers: Diego Mariño, Jorge.
Defenders: Mano, Jaume Costa, Kiko Olivas, Toño, Florian Lejeune, Pere Martínez.
Midfielders: Gonzalo Castellani, Fofo, Marcos Gullón, Iriome, Toribio, Lucas Porcar, Llorente.
Strikers: Kike López, Joselu, Airam Cabrera.

Thiago Dutra is ill, while Joan Truyols continues on the road to recovery. The positive news: Marcos Gullón, Kike López, and Mano all return, along with the mysteriously excluded Lucas Porcar. Something to prove, we hope.

The match begins at 1 pm Eastern Time, with "fall back" in effect in Spain. Streams will be competing with Racing Santander - Real Betis, which undoubtedly will be less entertaining. Ravi will lead the way. Endavant minisubmarino!
