Villarreal will begin their quest for the Copa del Rey in December--December 13, to be exact, with a match against CD Mirandés at their Anduva stadium, with the return leg to be played in El Madrigal on December 21. Our opponents are currently in the Segunda Division B (2nd Group), and they are unbeaten in their first 8 matches and top that table.
Yellow Submarine supporters won't need reminding we've lost to some minnows in this competition before, so we will have to be on alert. Incidentally, Bruno played against Mirandés when a member of our B team.
Our opponents are based in Miranda de Ebro, a largely industrial town about Villarreal's size in northern Spain (Castile and Leon). Their fans are known as the "marea rojilla" (red tide) since the team's colors are red and black. Mirandes defeated Amorebieta (local Basque side), Linense, and Logroñes.
Other interesting ties:

Ponferradina-Real Madrid
L'Hospitalet-Barcelona (first leg to be played in early November because of Club World Cup)
