In addition to Marcos Senna's long-running recovery (he is not with the team at present, but is training in Vila-Real), two more players have gone down with minor niggles.
Bruno withdrew from practice this morning with some soreness in his left ankle. He will be evaluated this afternoon to determine if he can return to training.
Also, and surely unfortunate for him, Jefferson Montero has withdrawn for the moment due to a muscle strain in his right tibialis anterior muscle. For those like me not experts in anatomy, according to Wikipedia, "the tibialis anterior is a muscle that originates in the upper two-thirds of the lateral surface of the tibia and inserts into the medial cuneiform and first metatarsal bones of the foot. Its acts to invert the foot." Hopefully he will be able to return to training soon, because if he has any hope at all of staying with the team this term, he has to impress Valverde right now.
The team will have a double session again on Saturday in preparation for Sunday morning's match against Navata (after which, they will have the rest of Sunday off).
