Villarreal...sunk?

No real news at the moment, so here are some of my thoughts, for what they are worth.

Well, at this point, no matter how many people keep saying that our eyes are still on fourth place, surely we are at the point where the Champions League is virtually unreachable, no matter how much Valencia tries to give it away. Missing out on the Champions League hurts the team in so many ways. The fans lose out on following our team through the pinacles of Europe. The club loses out on the financial incentives involved in the CL. And players - such as Diego Lopez, Giuseppe Rossi, and Godin - start to look elsewhere for their paychecks.

Watching the match yesterday (I recorded it and watched it when I got back in town) was such a difficult time. It is never a good thing when Eguren is your most dangerous offensive player. Eguren and Cani both had a good match. And while Nihat could not finish, he at least created some danger out there.

Next week - traveling to the Camp Nou to play Barcelona, winners 2-6 at the Bernabeu - is not looking too good at the moment. Is a point too much to ask?
