Villarreal have been linked (for whatever that is worth!) to two players, one very well known (Pandev), the other less so (Maicon), but perhaps a more likely fit. Goran Pandev, the Macedonian international, is currently a striker for SS Lazio, and has reportedly been linked to "6 of the 8 Champions League quarterfinalists". I would be shocked if anything came of this.
The second connection is with Maicon Thiago Pereira de Souza Nascimento, better known simply as Maicon, a Brazilian central defender for Nacional Funchal in Portugal. He is 23 years old and has appeared 24 times for the Portuguese side.
