Six players showed up for voluntary workouts today - Pires, Angel, Diego Lopez, Fuentes, Mati, and Nihat. I find it particularly interesting that Mati is out there. He is still one of my favorite players on the squad. He has not been as productive as I would like, although I think he did some good things on Saturday, creating some space and some chances, despite getting derided in the local media. And yet, we have not heard one word of complaint from him. He warms up on the sideline almost every match, he gets in to less than half of them, but he keeps his head up. He has not caused a bit of a distraction. I think we forget that he is only 22; he will keep growing, and I hope he will have a major role with Villarreal in the future.
