His agent is going to meet with representatives from Madrid to discuss a possible transfer. Santi has come out and said that it would be difficult for him to say no to Madrid. It is rumoured that they will pay his release clause of 16 Million Euros. He has had his head turned by this possible move and probably has his heart set on it. It remains to be seen if Madrid will go through with it however as Sevilla's diving Diego Capel is another option for them.
