UPDATE:Although it was already well-known that it would happen, Jozy has been officially named to the US roster for the Olympics.
Well, Jozy has made his mark. In his attempts to make Villarreal's squad for the upcoming year, he put a hat trick past Diego Lopez - no easy feat. Surely, that is the type of play Pellegrini is not going to want to let slip out of his fingers. But Altidore leaves Sunday to join to American contingent in Beijing, so his time to impress will be limited.
And in terms of other potential transfers, things have been moving slowly. Marcos, unfortunately, may be shipped off to a Segunda team - perhaps Celta de Vigo. Definitely not a step in the right direction. He has steadily declined over the last two years, from an excellent first campaign with Villarreal, in which he scored a gamewinner against Madrid, to an unimpressive stint with Recre, and now, it looks like he will be dropping leagues. Usually, such movement should be in the opposite direction. I wonder how much of a future he has with Villarreal - this could be his first step out the door.
Also, Josico has continued to train with the club, and is showing no interest in finding a new team, despite reported interest from other Spanish sides.
