Loans and more loans

Such is our policy of buying young talent and loaning them out to gain experience we have a long list of players who will be spending next season on loan. With the beginning of preseason it's best to take a look at who will not be spending next season at El Madrigal.

  • Robert Flores : Signed this summer from River Plate Montevideo the 22 year old Uruguayan will be plying his trade in River Plate of Argentina. Due to the large number of attacking midfielders in our squad he would have found it hard to get playing time.
  • Damian Escudero : Another summer signing this time from Velez Sarsfield. A left sided attacker he was the subject of a host of offers once it was announced he was up for loan. Real Vallodolid were the club that got him and he will be hoping to make a big impact before returning next year.
  • Marco Ruben : He had already spent half a season on loan at Recreativo having been signed in the January transfer window and in that time he scored 4 goals. At the moment there is no room for him in Pellegrini's squad so he will spend next season at Recre again.
  • Jonathan : A product of the clubs youth system Jonathan will have the chance to play Uefa Cup football next season. Racing Santander have taken him on loan having been impressed with his performances in the Segunda. Will need to have a good season if he wishes to get a place in El Madrigal when he returns next year.
  • Mathias Vidangossy : See here
  • Leandro Sigali : Remains in Argentina, the young centre back will this season be togging out for newly promoted Godoy Cruz. I don't know much about Sigali but with this loan he should get regular playing time.
  • Felipe Manoel : The teenage Brazilian was signed last year and immediately loaned back to Sport Recife in Brazil. His loan ended on June 30th and he is listed on the official site as being in the first team. I expect another season for him at Sport.
  • Marquitos : Still awaiting confirmation on a loan deal for Marcos, he spent last term at Recre and didn't have an abundance of playing time. Should be sorted out in the next few days.

Another possibility is Jozy Altidore, he will be taking part in the Olympics but there is the small chance that he will be shipped out to a smaller club as well. I would prefer to keep him on board considering Nihat's injury and Guille's inconsistency.
