Shorthanded Preseason

New, comments

Villarreal began preseason training today with only 16 players, but dreams of the Champions League. In my previous post, I failed to mention other important absences - Rossi is preparing to go to China, and Eguren, Godin, and Gonzalo are all given extra rest following their summer national team work in World Cup qualifiers.

To make up for the shortage of players, Pellegrini is expected to call upon up to eight players from Villarreal B. One of those is a recent acquisition - Oriol - that I know basically nothing about, other than the fact that he is either a left-side midfielder or a left fullback. Anyone have any information on him?

Tomorrow the squad will head to Navata for a week and a half of training. Only 16 days until Villarreal hosts Liverpool....
