In recent days AS and Marca have reported that Villarreal have made an offer of 2 Million Euros for the former Real Murcia man. The 21 year old attacking midfielder is currently plying his trade in Levante. Due to their relegation (and the fact that he has not been paid in 6 months it is looking very likely that he will be moving on this summer.
Leon, a Spanish U-21 international has supposedly asked Levante to accept the offer, stating that it would be fantastic to play in the Champions League. The question is though where would he fit in? We already have Pires, Santi, Mati, Cani and now Flores for the attacking positions and even if he drops deeper theres still hefty competition from Senna, Eguren, Bruno and Edmilson. Talented as Leon is, I just can't see how he will fit into our plans next season. He has not produced his Real Murcia form at Levante, the same form that saw him linked to Real Madrid and Chelsea and unless he can spark into life again he will find himself on the bench for the majority of the time.
However at 2 Million Euros he could be seen as a bargain in todays market and I do have faith in our transfer department, so we will just have to wait and see if the young man with the powerful right foot will be making the short trip to El Madrigal.
