Player Profile : Santi Cazorla

The 23 year old Asturian has had a fine season in La Liga and it is clear now why Pellegrini exercised his buy back clause to bring him back from Recreativo last summer. Santi joined Villarreal in 2003 where he made a handful of appearances for the first team and numerous appearances for Villarreal B. He was then shipped out to Recre and after a fine season it was decided to bring him back. An energetic attacking midfielder Cazorla has scored some key goals for us this season including some against Atletico and Valencia. His work ethic is also excellent and this is partly the reason he’s made so many appearances this season. He can be relied on to help out his fullbacks against opposition wingers, something which players such as Mati and Cani are not so keen to. His drive to get himself into the box has resulted in several goals a perfect example being the one against Vallodolid. He is a key part of the squad and will almost definitely be part of Pellegrini’s plans for next season. image credit villarrealcf.es
