Godín, following the lead of Gonzalo, has expressed his interest in retiring at Villarreal after hearing hints of a "lifetime contract." Although he had heard nothing official yet, he told the press, "It's something that does not depend on me, but if this proposal goes through, without doubt it would be spectacular for me."
